Shipping Rates & Charges:  The shipping rate for each product is calculated using dimensional weight (the dimension and weight of the box).  Our shipping costs do include a small, reasonable fee to cover the costs of tape, custom boxes, packaging inserts / protective foam, insurance, and labor. Per the requirements of our shipping / freight providers, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound. 

Each Order Is Custom Boxed To Order:  This means we build custom boxes, apply custom packing materials and/or inserts for protection, and wherever possible, ship in the fewest number of boxes to minimize your shipping charges. 

Estimated Shipping, Delivery Dates, & Shipping Cutoff:  When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose.  Orders received after 12PM (EST), will ship the next business day (if the item is in stock, subject to availability).  

Drop Shipped Products:  Many products are custom, built to order, and not stocked at our warehouse. Those products may take extra time (up to but not limited to several weeks) for building, processing, & shipping.  How long a drop shipped order may take to process and ship depends on raw material availability, component availability, machining/finishing times, assembly, quality control, packaging, and shipping.  Some suppliers are small shops who are great at manufacturing custom products but do not have the systems or computer processes necessary to provide tracking numbers.  In those instances, shipment tracking numbers may not be available timely or at all.  

Shipping Methods: 

  • USPS or UPS - Small packages, heavy but small packages (up to 50 lbs.), APO / AE, & International
  • UPS - Medium to large and oversized packages (up to 70 lbs.) 
  • USPS Express or UPS 2-Day Air Only - Hawaii & Puerto Rico (additional shipping is required)
  • Truck Freight -  Fiberglass headliners, hoods, fenders, bumpers, IFS systems, bundled large orders

International Shipping:  We can ship to virtually any address in the world.  Most packages will USPS International unless UPS International is absolutely necessary. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.  In this case, we will notify you.  Duties and taxes (required and assessed by customs) are NOT included in our estimates or charged on our orders. 

Damaged Merchandise: In the event that your product arrives damaged from the freight company, you immediately write down any and all "EXCEPTIONS" on the Delivery Receipt. Please do this prior to the carrier leaving. Our freight is insured and you have every right to file a freight claim with the carrier if they did not handle your products properly. If you see visible damage to the cartons or the product, you can choose to

(1) keep the product and file a claim (ask for a claim form from the driver)

(2) refuse the product and have it sent back to us.

It is best to document any problems with a digital camera if possible. VERY IMPORTANT!! Please try to inspect each piece of equipment thoroughly for damage prior to signing the delivery receipt. Once you are completely satisfied there is no damage, then sign the delivery receipt which releases the delivery company and American Performance Products from all damage claims.

If the delivery driver does not allow you to inspect each piece, please note on the delivery receipt the following statement. POSSIBLE CONCEALED DAMAGE. THE DELIVERY DRIVER WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO EXAMINE EACH BOX FOR INSPECTION and then sign where required. If these terms are not followed we cannot be liable for any replacements or refunds.

Our packaging and shipping experience reduces the chances of damage. However, in the event of damage, please save all original packaging and notify us and the shipping company immediately. Damages to items shipped must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported to us immediately. Concealed damage must be reported to us and the shipper within 7 days of arrival.  Please send us photos of the damage by email.

Pictures are required in the event of hidden damage. If there are partial damages or shortages, accept the good items and list damages/shortages on the delivery receipt. If the product is refused and damage is noted on the delivery receipt; we will send a replacement to correct the problem, or issue a pickup to replace the product at our discretion.

Missing, Lost, or Stolen Merchandise: If your package was left at your business or residence (without a signature), we cannot be held responsible for lost, stolen, or missing merchandise.  If your merchandise arrived, please check the contents of the shipment as soon as possible. Make sure that everything you ordered and paid for has been sent to you. Check each item against the invoice that is sent with each shipment. If you find an article missing, check the invoice to be sure that it is not back-ordered or shipped directly from the manufacturer. Please check all packaging for small parts (contents may have shifted during shipment). Back ordered or drop shipped items should be noted on your invoice. If you determine item(s) are missing, or you received the wrong item(s), report the exception to us within 7 days by email and include a copy of your invoice number.
